Understanding systems before changing them.

Technology does not exist in isolation. Neither do organizations, policies, or social challenges.

Many of the problems we encounter emerge from the interaction between people, technologies, institutions, incentives, and values. Understanding those interactions can reveal consequences, opportunities, and trade-offs that are otherwise easy to miss.

A Broader Lens

Whether the topic is artificial intelligence, sustainability, governance, education, or organizational change, I am interested in a simple question:

What happens when we look beyond the immediate problem and consider the wider system in which it exists?

This website is a collection of observations, essays, and analyses exploring that question.
